Sharon’s ability to build a strong team – whether in Division I athletics or as the President/CEO of a large, local non-profit – is the foundation of her achievements. Her ability to recruit talented people, match them to the ideal position and prepare them for the job at hand has resulted in a history of success.

Hired to develop the women’s intercollegiate athletic program at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, Sharon built the program from a concept to a highly respected Division I athletic program with eight varsity sports. As director of women’s athletics, Sharon coached field hockey and lacrosse – leading her 1980 lacrosse team to a national championship. In 1990 Sharon was inducted as the second woman into the Lafayette College Hall of Fame.

Teamwork was equally important during Sharon’s twelve years as President/CEO of the Central Coast YMCA in Salinas, where her collaborative style of leadership created a thriving organization with committed and professional volunteers and staff. Sound fiscal management and visionary leadership enabled the YMCA to experience a 261 percent growth in revenue. Working closely with volunteers, Sharon was able to recruit, train and mentor strong community volunteers and talented staff resulting in a successful $10.9 million capital campaign.

Sharon holds a B.S. degree from Ursinus College and a M.Ed. from Lehigh University. Her breadth of knowledge, critical thinking and history of success make her a valued partner with any business person who is seeking greater success and improved job satisfaction.

For more than 25 years, Sharon has called Salinas home. She has taken active volunteer leadership roles with the Rotary Club of Salinas, Spreckels Union Educational Foundation, Spreckels School Board, Central Coast YMCA, Rancho Cielo Youth Campus, Alliance on Aging, YMCA of the USA and the North American YMCA Development Organization.

When not working or volunteering, you will find Sharon and her husband Vearl on the golf course, taking a bicycle vacation, traveling to interesting places or spending time with family and friends.
